Round Connect Cycle · for indoor cycling studios
Every rider in their own range. In the same class.
Round Connect reads each rider’s cadence and turns it into a short, personal signal — on their tile, on the instructor’s watch (in development), in the owner’s weekly digest. Works with the bikes you already have. No leaderboard.
Free for small studios · Works with the bikes you have · Riders never pay
In the room today
A dark room, loud music, and one pace for everyone.
The energy of a full room is why people come — and why a first-timer rides far harder than they should to keep up with the friend next to them. Many don’t come back. Regulars who stop seeing progress drift to strength, reformer or Hyrox. And from the stage, in the dark, an instructor can’t see who on bike 9 has quietly stopped.
The bikes already measure a lot. What they don’t know is who is riding them today.
How it works
Check in with one tap
A QR code at reception, while the phone is still in hand: first time? how are you today? which bike? Back after a long break is recognised automatically.
Every rider gets their own range
The instructor sets a cadence range for each part of the ride — “climb 60–75”, “flat 85–100”. Round Connect narrows or shifts it for each rider: narrower for a first class, seated for a sensitive knee. Class by class, it learns each rider’s comfortable cadence.
Signals only when there’s something to do
On the rider’s tile: “in your range”, “ease the resistance”, “you can go harder”. On the instructor’s watch (in development): “Bike 9 has stopped”. After class: a card with the rider’s own success.
One evening, step by step
Aisha’s first ride
| Moment | What happens |
|---|---|
| At reception | Aisha scans the QR code while her phone is still in her hand: first time, bike 14. |
| Setting up | Katie, the instructor, adjusts her saddle; Aisha saves the marks — next time she’ll do it herself. |
| The brief | Katie’s phone: “First class: 14, 15.” She knows who to watch before the lights go down. |
| The climb | Aisha rides a narrower range than her friend next to her. When she grinds the climb, her tile says “ease the resistance”. |
| Cadence falls | It doesn’t recover — Katie’s watch vibrates (in development), she walks over: “for a first ride, climb seated.” |
| Straight after | The card: 31 minutes in her range, “you did it”, and a beginners’ ride on Saturday. She books it. |
| That week | The owner’s digest: three of Katie’s four first-timers came back. |

Made for the whole studio
For owners
New riders who come back for a second class. A studio that works in the daytime too. Riders who stay with the studio when an instructor moves on.
For instructors
Walk in knowing who to watch. One quiet vibration when a bike needs you (in development) — and nothing on top of your show.
For riders
Your own range, not a race against the person next to you. Your saddle and handlebar marks, remembered. Your success, right after class.
For the instructor
On your wrist, not on the stage. In development
Before class, the brief on your phone: first-timers, people back after a break, who climbs seated today — by bike number. During class, your watch vibrates only for what needs you to walk over. After class, a 30-second voice note becomes a safety-log entry with the time and the bike.
- No signals at planned pauses or in weights segments
- Nothing over your show on the shared screen
- The system blocks nothing, changes no resistance and never stops the class
Who to watch
For the rider
Success on their own scale.
Straight after class, while they’re still in the changing room: the route, the minutes in their own range, “you did it” — and a button to book the next ride. For a first-timer, that’s a beginners’ class. When a regular sits comfortably at the top of their range for three classes in a row, the card says they can go harder.
On the shared screen, every tile shows its own range, so a different range never singles anyone out. The reason — first class, a knee, a pregnancy — is never shown.
You did it.
Water, something to eat, an easy evening.
Next: Beginners’ ride · Sat 10:00Honest about the data
Cadence tells you rhythm and technique. Not effort.
That’s why cadence is where we start: almost every studio bike can send it, and it says a lot — a rider grinding a climb at 50 rpm is loading their knees; one bouncing at 125 needs more resistance; one whose cadence falls and doesn’t recover is getting tired.
Without heart rate or power, Round Connect draws no conclusions about intensity, and the instructor combines the signal with what they see in the room. Heart rate and power add a second layer where they exist. If a rider says “my heart rate doesn’t reflect my effort”, heart rate isn’t used for them at all.
Works with what you already have
Keep your bikes. Keep your booking system.
Bikes that broadcast cadence over Bluetooth or ANT+ connect as they are. Where a bike doesn’t, a small standard cadence sensor goes on the crank, mounted so it can’t come off without a tool. The computer behind the studio screen receives them all — no separate hub — and sensors that go quiet appear on the morning list.
Already have a screen from your bike brand? We decide with each studio: our screen on it, or signals only to the instructor and the rider app.
