Is this a medical app?
No. Heart rate and cadence tell us about effort and technique, not health — we make no conclusions about the heart or blood pressure, and nothing here is medical advice. If you have a medical condition, speak to your doctor first.
What do riders share?
Only what helps in class: first time, how they feel today, and their own notes such as “knee — not standing”. We never ask about medication or diagnoses. Only the instructor sees the reason; the shared screen shows only the rider’s range.
What about pregnancy?
Riders can add it themselves. They then ride in a seated range that only they and their instructor see. The studio’s general rules apply, and we suggest agreeing the load with a midwife — we don’t give individual advice.
Which bikes work?
Bikes that broadcast cadence over standard Bluetooth or ANT+ profiles connect as they are. Where a bike doesn’t, we fit a small cadence sensor on the crank. Tell us which bikes you have — the pilot covers several brands.
We already have a screen from our bike brand.
We decide with each studio: our screen on yours, or signals only to the instructor’s watch and the rider app — never two screens arguing with each other.
Do riders need heart-rate straps?
No. Cadence is the base. Heart rate and power add a second layer where they exist.
Is there a leaderboard?
No. Each tile shows the rider’s own range, and nobody is ranked against anyone else.
Does it change the resistance or stop the class?
No. Round Connect blocks nothing and changes nothing on the bike. People decide — the rider, the instructor, the owner.
What happens if a rider stops mid-class?
If a bike reads zero mid-interval for a while — not at a planned pause or in a weights segment — the instructor’s watch vibrates with the bike number (the watch signal is in development). In a ride without an instructor, the duty staff get it.
Can we run rides without an instructor?
Yes — after the pilot, and once your insurer agrees. The screen then gives riders the signals to slow down, and a stopped bike alerts the staff on duty.
What about riders without a smartphone?
The instructor checks them in with one tap, and they can get a printed summary once a month.
Does it work for older groups?
Yes. A big-tiles mode shows just the bike number and a large colour, with no small numbers, and the instructor gets a quick signal when someone stops.
What about experienced riders?
Fewer signals in class, more numbers after: where bikes send power, zones by FTP and how even your cadence is. Export to Strava is planned after the pilot.
Do you use cameras?
No. There are no cameras.
